For a third year ATC was requested to provide technical and ancillary support for the British Independent Retailer’s Association (BIRA), this time at Chateau Impney in Droitwich.
The event is an opportunity for retailers and supplier members to meet, engage and network in a conference and exhibition environment that comprised multiple elements – three conferences, an AGM, a Gala Dinner and Exhibition, plus a performance from a fire artist after the Gala Dinner.
Two separate event spaces were utilised at the venue, the first being used for a supplier conference in the morning and a conference for a BIRA sub-group in the afternoon. The second space was used for an AGM in the morning, the main conference in the afternoon with an exhibition space created around the periphery. The Gala Dinner and Awards were also held in this room in the evening.
ATC provided the full technical package for the event along with print supplies such as event banners, sponsors and exhibition boards for areas around the venue and even footprints for delegate directions.
Technical provision for the event spaces included Shure Radio Mics, Yamaha Mixing Desks and D&B PA systems. Lighting equipment included Robe Robin Spots and Wash Units, Selecon Generic Lights, Avolites Quartz Desk, Chauvet Colorado LED Battens and Avolites Dimmers. ATC also supplied all Rigging, and Visual Presentation Support in the form of blended Panasonic PT-RZ12k Laser Projectors, Spyder X20 control technology and Plasmas.
ATC also designed two independent sets that were built for the main conference and gala dinner, with the sets designed for a quick and easy change around due to limited time between the two events.
Separate crews were used for both spaces due to simultaneous conference sessions, with audio, lighting, presentation/video and Spyder technicians to ensure smooth running of the whole event. ATC’s project manager liaised closely with BIRA throughout, offering advice during the event production process and onsite delivery.
