LAND ROVER'S 60TH BIRTHDAY

ATC sets the stage for Land Rover's 60th Birthday Spectacular

Pop superstars Jamelia and the Hoosiers lit up Land Rover’s 60th anniversary celebrations for thousands of people over a July weekend in Warwickshire.

ATC provided sound and lighting for several areas in the three-day festival for Land Rover staff and their families which ran from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 July.

Employees from plants across the UK, including Liverpool, Solihull and Coventry attended the event held at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire, which was hosted by ITV presenter Ben Shepherd.

Will Bennett, General Manager of ATC, said: “This was a prestigious event to be involved with and it was great to be able to play a part in making this weekend a really special occasion for tens of thousands of Land Rover staff.

“We have done several shows and launches with Land Rover in the past, but instead of showcasing a car this time we had to make sure superstars like Jamelia looked and sounded their best.”

ATC worked alongside P&MM and KTA Design on the project, with Scenex Staging fitting the main outdoor stage. ATC provided the PA system and lighting for this area, with finalists from Britain's Got Talent also performing.

Jamelia is the pop star and model behind hits such as ‘See it in a Boy’s Eyes’, ‘Thank you’ and ‘Superstar’, while the Hoosiers hit the big time with ‘Goodbye Mr A’, ‘Cops and Robbers’ and also performed at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

An exhibit with cars from the history of Land Rover also featured lighting from ATC, as well as the G-Dec Design Studio which showed a film about the company’s 60 years using a Barco R12 projector and PA system.

Other attractions arranged for staff included sky diving, trampolining and ice skating.
